Cerro Castillo Hike, Carretera Austral

As our first big days hiking we tackled the Laguna Cerro Castillo Hike. We stayed at a little cabin right at the base of the mountain, the weather was wet and cold and we had to have the woodfire-oven going the whole time, which required some help by the cabin owner and his blowtorch. The owners dog "Lulu" thought my shoe would make a good chewtoy but we did not let this deter us. 7h Hike and 1300m in elevation gain, tough but at the top the clouds liftet and we were lucky enough to see the Cerro Castillo Peaks in their full glory right over the turquoise glacier lake.
